Brought to life by Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany, the Lamborghini Madura is a more eco-friendly concept car to be produced by the Italian
supercar manufacturer Lamborghini in the year 2016. This
environmentally sound vehicle, although not the first of its kind,
promises to be of the highest pedigree within the car world.
The concept
The Lamborghini Madura was created in collaboration with Audi as well as Lamborghini designers for Lamborghini's Raw Materials project. The project allows students at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany to design a car body and propose it to the major designers at Lamborghini. Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the University,
proposed this body style as well as hybrid concept to the designers,
and his genius idea has become a sensation among hybrid enthusiasts
around the world. The car will maintain the expectations of Lamborghini
owners as it will still invoke aggressive body lines, a sleek interior,
as well as a slightly more environmentally friendly engine. The drivetrain
of this vehicle is placed in the front-mid section of the body of the
car allowing Tanevsky to create radical rear end body lines. Some
enthusiasts may be curious as to the engine in the car, however, Lamborghini
officials assure that it will maintain 10-12 cylinders and produce the
same staggering amount of horsepower from any other supercar. As for the body of the car, it utilizes large, slender headlights with
bulky air intakes underneath, in order to accentuate the cars width.
The name of a champion
As most car enthusiasts know, Lamborghini has always named their vehicles in the spirit of Spanish culture such as bulls, bull fights and famous places in time. This symbolic naming system was proposed by car company creator, as well as tractor manufacturer Ferruccio Lamborghini, due to his immense love of Spanish culture as well as heritage. In the spirit of his ideas, Lamborghini
continues to name their vehicles in this way and has managed to come up
with the name Madura for their concept vehicle. The name Madura arose
from the island Madura in Indonesia which is famous for its large scale bull races and bull fights.
A futuristic hybrid concept
Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the Munich University of
Applied Sciences, has created this futuristic Lamborghini design
concept.
Dubbed the Madura (named after an Indonesian island famous for bull races), the concept was created - in collaboration with Lamborghini and Audi designers - for Lamborghini's Raw Materials Project.
According to Tanevsky, "The Madura is a proposal for the first hybrid Lamborghini scheduled for 2016. Doing a car more efficient and more nature-friendly, doesn't mean it shouldn't be exciting, good-looking and fast. (But) in my opinion this new propulsion system should be represented on the looks of the car."
While it's vaguely reminiscent of the Reventón and the Estoque concept, the whole design of the Madura is sleeker, more focused, and more aggressive. Up front, the Madura features slim headlights (to emphasize the cars' width), huge air intakes, and a curvaceous hood. Out back, the front-mounted hybrid powertrain allowed Tanevsky to create a maze of intricate lines which helps to give the car a unique appearance.
